The Shaw Rocket Prize awards the best of the best in Canadian kids’ programming. Who determines the winner? Kids, of course!
This year, we’re expanding to respond to the ever-changing digital landscape. We know that when kids watch TV, they aren’t just watching TV. They’re online too – playing games or using social media. So how does that change the Shaw Rocket Prize? Well, we’re still looking for great programming – that’s a given. But now we’re looking for the best overall audience experience. Who is the best at captivating their audience on all screens?
As part of the Shaw Rocket Fund’s ongoing mission to support the Canadian children’s media industry, the Shaw Rocket Prize acknowledges three specific target audiences – with total prize money of $75,000! Three prizes of $25,000 will be awarded to Canadian recipients for the best preschool program, the best children’s (6-12) program, and the best youth/family program.
