The Shaw Rocket Fund is a forward-thinking, not-for-profit corporation that focuses on stimulating excellence in the Canadian children's production industry. We realize that entertainment has become a multi-platform experience - especially for kids, where it has become part of their everyday lives! The Rocket Fund recognizes the growing importance of quality programming for Canadian children, and we continue to be a passionate champion so that our kids' media experience is enhanced through quality programming.
In addition to supporting the production industry, we support the opinions of Canadian children, and involve them in various aspects of the Shaw Rocket Fund, such as our Kids Jury for the Shaw Rocket Prize. We have become proactive in our research to ensure that our kids are continuously getting the best programming possible - and this research would not be complete without the involvement of kids themselves. These initiatives will help us continue to be a champion of Canadian children's programming and increase the impact of our programs not only at home, but abroad.
The Shaw Rocket Prize is an annual $50,000 prize honouring the very best in Canadian television programming for kids. Now in its 8th year, we remain committed to this initiative and have expanded the prize to include the related digital content, in order to acknowledge the evolution of quality kids' programming both today and for future generations.
